Strategic Communications
Led by Jane Smith, Account Director, Athene works with clients across industry to plan and deliver communication strategies for key projects and change programmes such as office closures, redundancy programmes and company restructures.
We offer a range of products to help our clients understand their audiences and audit and plan their communication activities.
Communication Audits - How often do you review the effectiveness of your communication? You may be confident that you have your messages right, but are your audiences hearing what you want them to?
Athene Communications has developed three simple and cost effective communication audits:
- Are they hearing what you're saying? – a review of how your organisation is perceived by its key audiences.
- Adding value through communication – assessing whether your communication activity is truly focused on adding value to your organisation.
- Future proofing your communication – examining how well your current communication activity is preparing your stakeholders for future change.
Each audit involves primary research amongst your key audiences designed to find out what works and what needs improving. Our findings are presented to you candidly but sensitively with simple recommendations for how to take things forward.
Communication strategies – All too often organisations develop their strategies and plans and then turn to their communications team to tell people about them. However, this tactical, last minute approach is rarely effective. At Athene, we believe that communication must be integral to the development of any strategy, influencing its nature and addressing the issues and challenges upfront. This way, communication becomes as a key enabler of success.
We work with our customers to advise on strategy development, embedding within their organisational plans comprehensive communication solutions that embrace all audiences and address key issues and risks.
Such strategies might be for specific and time-limited projects, such as M&A activity, organisational launch, employee engagement and change programmes, or be more long-term, for instance community engagement strategies or strategies designed to support an organisation's overall development.
Employee engagement and change management – It's a fact that people put more trust in what your employees say about your organisation than in your press releases and adverts. According to over 40 Gallup polls, around three quarters of employees do not feel engaged with their jobs and the organisations they work for. Actively disengaged workers are estimated to cost the British economy £38 billion a year through high staff turnover absenteeism and low productivity.
Athene works with its clients to design and roll out creative engagement programmes designed to raise performance by helping teams and individuals understand their own organisation, its strategy and ambitions and their role in its success.
