Community and Stakeholder Engagement
Athene Communications has an unrivalled track record working with developers, investors and planners to maximise support for planning applications of all sizes, enhancing the financial returns of new developments by reducing friction in the planning process.
We structure the public consultation process to enable our clients to negotiate the sometimes conflicting pressures of the Localism Bill and the National Planning Policy Framework.
This includes engagement with all stakeholders at an early stage to understand local concerns and reduce the potential for opposition.
Successful development, in whatever sector, demands a well-planned and co-ordinated approach to planning applications. The financial performance of new schemes is entirely dependent on achieving planning consent. This is itself dependent on effective engagement with the stakeholders and local community.
We support clients in the following sectors:
- Energy (including both renewables and nuclear)
- Neighbourhood planning
We have created a class-leading approach to community engagement, with a hugely experienced team and nationwide reach. Every project has specific requirements and local issues and sensitivities must be appropriately addressed.
Our community engagement approach includes:
- Community audit
- An engagement strategy
- Pre-application engagement and consultation programme
- Statement of community involvement
- Full PR and media monitoring services
- Social media campaigning and monitoring
We also work with local communities which want to produce a neighbourhood plan. This could include the creation of a stakeholder database, the organisation and promotion of consultation events via the local media, and the collation of feedback reports.
