Encouraging businesses to consider the environment
Great Oakley Estates is a major supporter of its community and wanted to help tackle the problem of litter in urban and rural areas.
Athene Communications devised a campaign aimed at encouraging businesses to come together and ensure the borough of Corby is litter free.
Working closely with key partners including Corby Borough Council, we created the Corby Clean and Proud campaign.
Retailers and businesses were able to demonstrate the work they do to keep their premises litter free by signing the C.L.E.A.N. pledge to maintain a clean and tidy Corby.
Each business to sign up received a campaign certificate and window sticker and was featured on the campaign website.
The campaign was launched in the centre of Corby and received extensive local media coverage.
Activity was channelled towards the website www.corbyclean.co.uk and supported by social media.
This resulted in:
• 15 businesses signed up to the campaign in the first month, including housing companies, takeaway restaurants and schools
• Corby MP Tom Pursglove supported the campaign and promoted via his online social media channels
• Local media coverage from ITV Anglia, BBC Radio Northamptonshire, Northamptonshire Telegraph, Corby Radio
• 16,000 Twitter impressions during the launch week
